Currie Communications

Stakeholder dialogue removes barriers

Currie developed a stakeholder engagement program and communications strategy for Eureka 150 – a series of activities and events which took place at a national, state and local level to celebrate and commemorate the 150-year anniversary of the Eureka Stockade in 1854.

Working closely with the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet and eight key stakeholder groups in Ballarat, Currie:

  • Facilitated communications planning workshops with internal stakeholders;
  • Ran face-to-face meetings in Ballarat and stakeholder teleconferences;
  • Developed a comprehensive marketing communications strategy with stakeholder-specific objectives, key messages, tools and tactics; and
  • Delivered a workshop to explain the communication strategy to all stakeholders.

As a result of the workshop facilitated by Currie, agreement was secured from Ballarat stakeholders, representing tourism, media, hospitality and local government as to how the State Government should promote the 150th anniversary of the Eureka stockade.
