Currie Communications

Making science sexy worldwide

Currie coordinates communications for the Coral Reef Targeted Research and Capacity Building for Management (CRTR) Program (www.gefcoral.org), a leading international coral reef research initiative. Funded by the World Bank and the Global Environment Facility, the CRTR Program is providing a coordinated approach towards improved coral reef management and filling crucial knowledge gaps in core research.

Aspects of Currie’s role include strategic planning, media relations, stakeholder relations and production of collateral. In December 2007, Currie designed and coordinated a Coral Leadership Workshop for the program. The Workshop educated young scientists about leadership, media and communications to make them more effective advocates for coral reef conservation and management.
