Stakeholder engagement and Currie
Currie is in the business of building relationships. If we didn’t, we wouldn’t still be around. As markets become more competitive, we are working increasingly with companies on stakeholder interaction and tracking.
Successful stakeholder engagement is hard work – it involves time and commitment to actively engage. We must listen, build a relationship and respond to people’s concerns and suggestions in a practical way. Engagement is not an end in itself, but a means to help build better relationships with the community in which business operates, ultimately resulting in improved business planning and performance.
Currie works with Dairy Australia, the representative body for the dairy industry to navigate their way through its challenging environment. To be an effective and influential voice for dairy farmers – stakeholder engagement is critical. We have helped them prioritise stakeholders and obtain buy-in and participation from their leadership group across a number of key issues.
We also assist the Global Change Institute in stakeholder relations. Take for instance our work setting up meetings with thought leaders when the GCI visited Washington.
Sometimes our work in stakeholder relations involves helping an organisation communicate with the general public, such as the joint MFB/CFA winter fire safety campaign which we have supported for the past two years.
Other recent clients we have assisted with stakeholder engagement include:
- Retirement Village Association
- Australia Post
- Victorian Department of Primary Industries
- Goulburn-Murray Water
